GEOMETRY DASH TARTARUS: Conquer the Abyss of Extremes

Welcome to the abyss of extremes in Geometry Dash Tartarus, a relentless journey that will push your limits to the edge. Once known as Silent Akbar, this Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level is a testament to the most dedicated and skilled players. Created and hosted by the enigmatic Riot, along with a team of exceptional creators including ItzDolphy, Aurorus, EndLevel, Cyclic, Hinds, Aquatias, Komp, Azuler, and Vermillion, Tartarus is not for the faint of heart.

A Challenge Beyond Imagination: The Legend of Tartarus

Geometry Dash Tartarus was conceived as a challenge almost beyond human capability. Riot, the mastermind behind this hellish creation, openly hack-verified the level to taunt the player community. The challenge was clear: whoever could legitimately verify this diabolical creation would earn the right to bask in glory and receive Riot's elusive shoutout, along with other undisclosed rewards.

Three valiant players stepped up to the plate, determined to conquer the unconquerable: Mullsy, Dolphy, and MetaManRB. Their epic journeys through the level were nothing short of awe-inspiring. However, it was Dolphy who emerged victorious, verifying and publishing Tartarus on January 6, 2020. The level's completion was an unparalleled achievement, dethroning the mighty Zodiac and claiming the coveted #1 spot on the Demonlist.

A Triumph of Tenacity: The Legacy of Tartarus

The success of Tartarus gave birth to a standalone successor known as Acheron, verified by Zoink on August 23, 2022. Like its predecessor, Acheron ascended to the top of the Demonlist, continuing the legacy of unrelenting challenges.

An Abyss Inspired by Myth: Tartarus and Greek Mythology

The name Tartarus draws inspiration from Greek mythology, where it represents a deep abyss used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked. This thematic choice is reflected in the level's hellish design, filled with treacherous obstacles and unforgiving trials. Tartarus remains known for its extreme difficulty, holding the title of the hardest level verified on 240Hz or a refresh rate below 360FPS for over two years and ten months.

A Challenge Beyond Limits: The Influence of Tartarus

Geometry Dash Tartarus is more than just a level; it's a milestone in the Geometry Dash community. Its release in 2020 marked a new era of extreme challenges. It not only secured its place at the pinnacle of the Demonlist but also pushed other levels, like The Hell Zone, to the Extended List and Insaction to the Legacy List.

The Saga Continues: The New RGB Trilogy

Tartarus is part of the player-made 'New RGB trilogy' alongside Sonic Wave Infinity and The Golden. However, Trueffet found its place between Sonic Wave Infinity and The Golden on September 15, 2021, breaking up the trilogy. This highlights Tartarus as the first legitimately verified Top 1 Extreme Demon with a main-level song since ICE Carbon Diablo X and the only Top 1 level to surpass the difficulty of three levels meant to be harder, namely The Golden, Sonic Wave Infinity, and Arcturus.
